Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Hello,
I am so glad you are considering me to be your facilitator, speaker or coach. I hope that I have had a chance to get to know you. To make you more comfortable, I want to share a little bit about myself.
I’m a professional woman in my 50s who has spent the last 10 plus years in search of a reason for being. From a very young age, I set goals, accomplished them, checked the box, over and over.
During my 40s, I began understanding emptiness all too well. From a professional perspective, I had it all. Who could want more? Me, I thought, I want more! My progress was slow, but in March 2013, all that changed.
After a battery of liver tests, my doctor advised me “your liver may have a decade.” I don’t remember the conversation that followed, but I do remember the vision I had at that exact moment.
Before me, lay a great divide. One path was framed in a collage of greenery and fresh flowers, and was home to a gently flowing azure blue stream. The trickle of water over the smooth stones calmed my soul. The reflection of the Light in the water softly beckoned. As I looked around, I saw another path, one that was cloaked in fear, worry and darkness.
“Well, Carla, think it over and let me know,” the doctor was saying. Pulled back from my vision, I said “I’ll do that,” but had no idea to what I agreed. In that handful of minutes, I had made a choice, not about my treatment, but about my life. I have never looked back.
I was going to live intentionally.
Taking care of my body was the first step. Personal Wellness Coach, Jamie, encourages my spirit as she transforms my out-of-shape body. Having recently completed my first half marathon, her work has only begun.
God gave me talents in the womb. Life-shaping experiences formed my blazing passion. I had realized that all I had were those experiences and talents, but that was more than enough.
Intentional living has become my mantra. And I want to help others - you, who are in the process of choosing your path. I want to use my education, work and life experience to encourage decisive synergy.
Each new dawn holds opportunities for me to give back a part of "Carla" to inspire and transform individuals, churches and organizations to unleash their potential with intention.
Ten years or not, I have never felt so free.
To your peace and synergy,
Carla Wheaton Adkins
